Outdoor Preschool at Whitinsville Christian School
At Whitinsville Christian School, we believe young children thrive through joyful exploration and connection with God’s creation. Our Outdoor Preschool program, an add-on for students enrolled in our five-day PK3 or PK4 classes, blends traditional classroom learning with immersive outdoor education. Children spend extended time in our Outdoor Ed Forest, engaging in active, hands-on learning experiences, rain or shine.
Rooted in our Christian mission, this program fosters growth across all areas of development: physical, emotional, academic, and spiritual. As students run, climb, build, and imagine, they gain confidence, resilience, and a deeper understanding of God’s world, all within the safe support of caring and engaged teachers. Outdoor Preschool is designed to cultivate problem-solving, creativity, cooperation, and a lifelong love for learning. Spots in this program are very limited so inquire today!
All of our programs follow the Whitinsville Christian School calendar beginning in late August and ending in early June. Optional hot lunch and aftercare are available to preschool students.
Comprehensive Curriculum
Our curriculum encourages young children to explore God’s world, enjoy learning, and participate in Christian community. Each program has a distinct curriculum so students who participate in preschool for two or three years have a wide variety of learning opportunities.
Generally our curriculum is literature based and comprehensive including centers for math, science, literacy, worship, handwriting, dramatic play, sensory experiences, and art. The Educational Standards for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts are exceeded by the activities and offerings in both the P3 and P4 programs.
Goals for our preschool include:
- Encourage a love for God and one another-learning to cooperate and be sensitive to the needs of others.
- Develop a sense of wonder, appreciation, and excitement for learning about God and his creation.
- Develop fine and gross motor skills.
- Stimulate creativity.
- Improve verbal, listening and perceptual skills.
